Pure: A Harmonious Blend of Nature and Geometry

Yi-An Hung and Hui-Juan Lin's Innovative Event Installation

The design, aptly named Pure, is inspired by the fundamental elements of all creatures - sunshine, air, water, and human beings. The designers, Yi-An Hung and Hui-Juan Lin, drew inspiration from the natural geometry of crystals to create a multi-dimensional framework. This framework, built by point, line, and surface, creates spatial interests of expansion and compression. The remnant space becomes a floating area for sunshine, air, water, and people, extending the idea that nature embraces all creatures.

Pure stands out for its unique design strategy. Using sheets and vanishing points, the designers created diverse spatial experiences and interests. From the front, visitors experience a visual expansion and compression. From the side, lines create an interesting skyline. At the rear, there is an interaction with green life. This strategic design approach results in a diverse and engaging experience for visitors.

The installation, measuring 3m x 3m x 3m, was primarily constructed using wood, with a metal frame and plants for decoration. The designers faced the challenge of blending various elements into one space while ensuring flow and consistency in the design. However, their innovative approach and careful planning resulted in a harmonious blend of nature and geometry.

Pure was installed in Xiamen from December 9 to 11, 2016. During this time, visitors were able to step inside the installation and experience the diverse spatial experiences and interests created by the design. The installation offered a unique interaction with nature and geometry, providing a memorable experience for all who visited.

The design's excellence was recognized with a Golden A' Event and Happening Design Award in 2017. The award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom.
